The Rural Development Programme (RDP) of Andalusia for 2014-2022 introduced 'Operation 6.1.1', which focuses on supporting young farmers' business creation. This initiative aimed to push the Andalusians between 18 and 40 years old towards sustainable agricultural practices, addressing objectives such as increasing competitiveness, employment, innovation, training and socio-economic development in rural areas. By 2020, the aid had a significant uptake, accounting for 9.5% of the total RDP public expenditure.

The study, commissioned by Junta de Andalucia, employed qualitative and quantitative methodologies, drawing from primary and secondary sources to gauge common indicators and answer specific evaluation questions. Notably, young beneficiaries exhibited a strong inclination towards agriculture, with potential growth areas identified in marketing training and innovative investments.
