Steering Group meets to discuss CAP networking opportunities

The EU CAP Network's Steering Group is a key part of the Network's governance structure. The first meeting of this governance body took place earlier this month.

The EU CAP Network's Steering Group is a core part of the Network's governance structure. Steering Group members comprise a panel of 22 experts from Member States and EU organisations who help coordinate the network's thematic work. The first meeting of the group took place earlier this month.

Steering Group members met in person in the EU CAP Network premises on 10 October to consider the the progress of thematic networking, as well as other governance and procedural topics. The agenda reflected the importance of the Steering Group's first meeting in terms of confirming its working methods and broad thematic coverage of the network’s activities.

Information summarising activities of the EU CAP Network's Subgroups were exchanged on Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (SoIKE), CAP Strategic Plans (SoCSP), LEADER and territorial development (SoLTD), as well as the Expert Group on implementing the CSP Regulation.

Progress reports by these governance bodies were discussed, and outcomes helped the the Steering Group to advise on topics for the next EU CAP Network Assembly. This included identifying matters for further sharing and developing through the EU CAP Network's strands and future Annual Working Plans. Members of the Steering Group are next scheduled to meet in Spring 2024.
