‘Nature Connects’ is a campaign to raise and generate awareness on the importance of biodiversity in rural landscapes by bringing together land owners, experts and the broader public.

Using LEADER support to provide information and raise awareness about wild bee protection.

Implementing a result-based nature conservation measure for species and habitat protection as to allow more flexibility for farmers in choosing and implementing management activities suitable to their land.

In favour of biodiversity, a municipality decided to remove spruce trees growing on municipal soil and to rehabilitate broadleaved trees that were originally growing in these areas.

An agricultural holding installed 42 ha of pastures which helped increase the farm’s livestock while increasing carbon sequestration and offering environmental services.

EAFRD funding helped set up associations that bring together local stakeholders with diverse interests to manage the implementation of Nature 2000 conservation rules.

Austria`s western Vorarlberg region used EAFRD funding to develop a support network to help its communities protect local wildlife and natural habitats. 

This LEADER-funded project created several small wetlands and helped raise awareness of and interest in water protection among landowners. It also contributed to increasing the amount of available water in the island of Gotland.
