EU Member States are required to evaluate their CAP Strategic Plans during and after the 2023-27 programming period, with these evaluations designed to assess how each country contributes to achieving the CAP objectives and to improve the quality of the design and implementation of the agriculture and rural development policy. 

Evaluation plans will help shape and guide this process with EU Member States drafting a plan that ensures all the necessary evaluation activities take place, with sufficient resources and required data available – and in a timely manner and appropriate format.

The Good Practice Workshop in Prague will provide the opportunity for key evaluation stakeholders to exchange, network and assess best practices for developing evaluation plans, with specific objectives to:

Exchange practical experiences on the design of evaluations plans, in terms of how to meet legal requirements and enrich the plans with content that fulfils the evaluation needs of EU Member States;
Identify difficulties in the design of the different evaluation plan sections, and approaches for overcoming them, by drawing on current and past knowledge;
Provide an opportunity for networking and identification of best practices among EU Member States in the process of evaluation planning.

Target audience:

The workshop will be an opportunity to bring together Managing Authorities and Paying Agencies, who may also designate evaluators and/or other evaluation stakeholders who support them in this process. Working language will be English.
