- 2023-2027

The first meeting of the Thematic Group (TG) on Enhancing Biodiversity on Farmland for Improved Resilience enabled members to share experiences about initiatives for delivering biodiversity outcomes on farmland at scale. Examples from Ireland, the Netherlands, Croatia and the UK were shared and then discussed in breakout groups, each exploring positive experiences, success factors and challenges faced in the design and implementation of interventions for improving biodiversity outcomes on farmland at scale (i.e. beyond the individual farm).
The key topics of interest emerging from the TG discussions were: effective scheme design for engaging farmers and encouraging landscape scale approaches; improving the understanding of economic and environmental benefits of biodiversity action; understanding the full potential of the range of CAP interventions to improve biodiversity outcomes on farmland; facilitating coordinated action; and improving monitoring and evaluation.
TG members prioritised the topics to be discussed within the TG work, both during informal meetings and during the second meeting scheduled on 13 November 2024.
