Objectives
Reduce food losses and waste (FLW) in the fruit and vegetable (FV) sector through the development of new services supported by digital tools.
Reduce FLW in the FV through the development of new services supported in digital tools.
Diagnose FLW in the FV sector
Facilitate the implementation of FLW prevention plans in the FV primary sector
Facilitate decision-making for the prevention of FLW based on
sustainability criteria (environmental, social and economic)
Provide prevention alternatives for FV FLW following the hierarchy of food uses adapted to the sector and the territory
Raise awareness and sensitize companies in the FV sector
of the importance of reducing FLW and its measurement

hortofrutícola (HF) a través del desarrollo de nuevos servicios apoyados en herramientas digitales.
Diagnosticar las PDA en el sector HF
Facilitar la implementación de planes de prevención de la PDA en el
sector primario HF
Facilitar la toma de decisiones para la prevención de PDA en base a
criterios de sostenibilidad (ambiental, social y económico)
Proporcionar las alternativas de prevención de las PDA
hortofrutícolas siguiendo la jerarquía de usos de los alimentos
adaptado al sector y al territorio
Concienciar y sensibilizar a las empresas del sector HF

1 Practice Abstracts
"The PDApp project promotes the reduction of food losses and waste in the agri-food sector through digital tools based on the principles of economics circular and the bioeconomy. The PDApp project will design a decision support service for companies and agents in the primary sector that will help them prevent FLW. The service includes the support to companies to create the appropriate tools for the digitalization of their Plan for the Prevention and Reduction of Losses and Food Waste (PPRPDA). The digitized PPRPDA will help decision-making, with sustainability criteria, and the establishment of corrective measures for companies, since it will be counted in real time and accumulated with data on FLW, donations and valorizations. In addition, the project will create a digital tool for the exchange of surpluses generated between different agents such as food processing companies, NGOs that receive donations, farmers, feed manufacturers, etc. These tools will allow traceability to be guaranteed, as well as the reporting of FLW to public bodies. These proposals are adjusted to the next Law of prevention of food losses and waste, approved by the Council of Ministers in 2021 and currently in the process of amendments. The companies present in the consortium will validate the service by establishing it in the last year of the project.
El proyecto PDApp promueve la reducción de las pérdidas y el desperdicio alimentario en el sector agroalimentario a través de herramientas digitales fundamentadas en los principios de la economía
circular y la bioeconomía. El proyecto PDApp diseñará un servicio de apoyo a la decisión para las empresas y agentes del sector primario que las ayudará a prevenir las PDA. El servicio incluye el
acompañamiento a las empresas necesario para que estas creen las herramientas adecuadas para la digitalización de su Plan de Prevención y Reducción de las Pérdidas y el Desperdicio Alimentario (PPRPDA). El PPRPDA digitalizado ayudará a la toma de decisiones, con criterios de sostenibilidad, y el establecimiento de medidas correctoras para las empresas, ya que se contará en tiempo real y acumulado con datos de PDA, donaciones y valorizaciones. Además, el proyecto creará una
herramienta digital para el intercambio de los excedentes generados entre distintos agentes como pueden ser empresas de transformación de productos alimentarios, ONG receptoras de donaciones, ganaderos, fabricantes de piensos, etc. Estas herramientas permitirán que se garantice la trazabilidad, así como el reporte de las PDA a la administración. Estas propuestas se ajustan a la próxima Ley de
prevención de las pérdidas y el desperdicio alimentario, aprobada por el Consejo de Ministros en 2021 y en proceso de enmiendas en la actualidad. Las empresas presentes en el consorcio validarán el servicio mediante su establecimiento en el último año del proyecto.
