1 Practice Abstracts
"The PDApp project promotes the reduction of food losses and waste in the agri-food sector through digital tools based on the principles of economics circular and the bioeconomy. The PDApp project will design a decision support service for companies and agents in the primary sector that will help them prevent FLW. The service includes the support to companies to create the appropriate tools for the digitalization of their Plan for the Prevention and Reduction of Losses and Food Waste (PPRPDA). The digitized PPRPDA will help decision-making, with sustainability criteria, and the establishment of corrective measures for companies, since it will be counted in real time and accumulated with data on FLW, donations and valorizations. In addition, the project will create a digital tool for the exchange of surpluses generated between different agents such as food processing companies, NGOs that receive donations, farmers, feed manufacturers, etc. These tools will allow traceability to be guaranteed, as well as the reporting of FLW to public bodies. These proposals are adjusted to the next Law of prevention of food losses and waste, approved by the Council of Ministers in 2021 and currently in the process of amendments. The companies present in the consortium will validate the service by establishing it in the last year of the project.
