Objectives

Reduce food losses and waste (FLW) in the fruit and vegetable (FV) sector through the development of new services supported by digital tools.
Reduce FLW in the FV through the development of new services supported in digital tools.
Diagnose FLW in the FV sector
Facilitate the implementation of FLW prevention plans in the FV primary sector
Facilitate decision-making for the prevention of FLW based on
sustainability criteria (environmental, social and economic)
Provide prevention alternatives for FV FLW following the hierarchy of food uses adapted to the sector and the territory
Raise awareness and sensitize companies in the FV sector
of the importance of reducing FLW and its measurement

Objectives

Reducir las pérdidas y el desperdicio alimentario (PDA) en el sector
hortofrutícola (HF) a través del desarrollo de nuevos servicios apoyados en herramientas digitales.
Diagnosticar las PDA en el sector HF
Facilitar la implementación de planes de prevención de la PDA en el
sector primario HF
Facilitar la toma de decisiones para la prevención de PDA en base a
criterios de sostenibilidad (ambiental, social y económico)
Proporcionar las alternativas de prevención de las PDA
hortofrutícolas siguiendo la jerarquía de usos de los alimentos
adaptado al sector y al territorio
Concienciar y sensibilizar a las empresas del sector HF
de la importancia de reducir las PDA y de su medición

Activities

1 - Design and coordination of the PDApp platform
2 - Conceptual design of protocols to develop FLW prevention plans and FLW measurement in the primary fruit and vegetable sector
3 - Development of the sustainability tool
4 - Design of a decision tree to structure the alternatives for prevention and recovery of existing FLW
5 - Digital development of the PDApp platform
6 - Validation of the PDApp platform
7 - Dissemination, communication and awareness.

1 - Diseño y coordinación de la plataforma PDApp 
2 - Diseño conceptual de protocolos para elaborar los planes prevención de PDA y medición PDA en el sector primario hortofrutícola
3 - Desarrollo de la herramienta de sostenibilidad
4 - Diseño de un árbol de decisión para estructurar las alternativas de prevención y valorización de PDA existentes
5 - Desarrollo digital de la plataforma PDApp 
6 - Validación de la plataforma PDApp
7 - Difusión, comunicación y sensibilización.
