LEADER Transnational Cooperation (TNC)

Through LEADER TNC, rural areas in different countries can jointly develop and share new solutions to common issues. Find out the tools developed by the EU CAP Network to support your TNC experience.

LEADER Transnational Cooperation (TNC) is an effective mechanism for helping rural areas in different Member States or third countries to jointly develop and share new solutions to common issues.

LEADER TNC encourages and supports Local Action Groups (LAGs) to undertake a ‘joint action’, often a project, with another LEADER group, or with a group taking a similar approach, in another region or Member State, or even in a third country. The ambition of LEADER TNC is to help local actors improve the potential of their areas.

The EU CAP Network has developed a series of tools to support your TNC ‘journey’: a practical guide to TNC, TNC Factsheets and a TNC Partner Search.

All these tools are presented below and will be continually developed and adapted over time, with input from you, our stakeholders.

This page will be complemented with other tools and resources as they become available. Keep visiting it regularly to see what's new!

TNC – A practical guide

The EU CAP Network has created a practical guide that aims to provide advice, tips for planning and step-by-step implementation of LEADER TNC projects under the CAP Strategic Plans (CSP) 2023-2027.

TNC Factsheets

Local Action Groups (LAGs) are now exclusively responsible for selecting TNC projects. The rules and eligibility criteria related to TNC can vary between Member States, as well as between regions within a Member State. To help you understand these rules, the EU CAP Network has created a series of Factsheets that can help you when looking for TNC partners.

Partner Search

Our TNC Partner Search will help you find LAGs who are actively interested in cooperation or who have provided more details through specific cooperation offers. The tool is currently under development.

For the time being we invite you to explore the LAG Directory to find the contact details for the new LEADER Local Action Groups (LAGs) created in the 2023-2027 programming period.
