Roots of Resilience explores biodiversity through science, practice and lived experiences across Europe, highlighting how biodiversity underpins resilient agroecological systems.
This webinar shares key insights through short presentations alongside animations and visual storytelling.
Our speakers:
- Elizabeth Finch, German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research;
- Cian Blaix, INRAE/Agroscope;
- Adrien Swartebroeckx, Walloon Agricultural Research Centre;
- Leaders of our Innovation Hub projects in Bulgaria, Switzerland and Hungary.
Highlights include:
- Research findings from across Agroecology-TRANSECT;
- Introduction of a new tool for measuring biodiversity indicators on farms to support Agroecology practice;
- Reflections on existing policy and how it helps or hinders agroecological transition;

About Agroecology-TRANSECT
Agroecology-TRANSECT’s ambition is to grow understanding of a wide range of agroecological farming practices in order to accelerate their uptake by European farmers.
Alongside the research of academic and professional partners, the heart of the project resides in the work of 11 ‘innovation hubs’. These are up and running on-farm trials, exploring and recording the barriers and levers to their success. This combination of practice and research leads to 'actionable knowledge', accelerating change by demonstrating real world solutions to real world issues in farming. The variety of practices and farm types involved in the project gives a sense of the depth and breadth of our ambition.
