EIP-AGRI Workshop 'Opportunities for agriculture and forestry in the circular economy': Final report

As part of the drive towards sustainable growth and jobs, the European Commission presented its circular economy package on 2 December 2015. The transition towards a circular economy will involve all stages of the value chain, from primary production through to final consumption and waste management. On 28 and 29 October 2015 a workshop was held in Naantali, Finland to explore the role of agriculture and forestry in the circular economy, and to identify concrete ways forward as part of this transition.

This report provides an introduction to the circular economy concept in the primary sectors of agriculture and forestry, and describes the discussions and the outcomes of the workshop.
