Objectives
The RECUP_EVA project, promoted by the EVA BEBA Operative Group, aims to recover the production of the Eva grape variety by boosting its production in Extremadura. It addresses the opportunity to reintroduce this unique golden-coloured variety as a high-value table grape in the national and European markets. Through innovative agronomic techniques, the development of an experimental farm and post-harvest research, the aim is to achieve longer harvest periods while improving the quality of the fruit. In addition, it aims to save a rare pink Eva variety, which would allow this product to be further boosted in the market for its competitiveness.
Objectives
El proyecto RECUP_EVA, promovido por el Grupo Operativo EVA BEBA, tiene como objetivo recuperar la producción de la variedad de uva Eva potenciando su producción en Extremadura. Aborda la oportunidad de reintroducir esta variedad única de color dorado como uva de mesa de alto valor en los mercados nacionales y europeos. Mediante técnicas agronómicas innovadoras, el desarrollo de una finca experimental y la investigación de postcosecha, se busca lograr periodos de cosecha más largos a la vez que se mejore la calidad del fruto. Además, se pretende salvar una rara variedad de Eva rosada, lo que permitiría impulsar aún más la competitividad de este producto en el mercado.
Activities
Among others, the RECUP_EVA project includes the following activities:
- Implementation of an experimental farm for the cultivation of Eva table grapes
- Land testing using agronomic techniques for managing Eva table grape crops
- Land testing using techniques for controlling grape ripening through field bagging
- Analysis of post-harvest storage and use of plastic wrap to extend the shelf life of grapes
Activities
Entre otras, el proyecto RECUP_EVA comprende la realización de las siguientes actividades:
- Implementación de una finca experimental para el cultivo de uva de mesa Eva
- Experimentación mediante técnicas agronómicas de manejo de cultiva de uva de mesa Eva
- Experimentación mediante técnicas de control de maduración de la uva a través de embolsado en campo
- Análisis de almacenamiento poscosecha y uso de envolturas plásticas para prolongación de vida útil de la uva
