The interdisciplinary focus of the project (scientists - practitioners; farmers - veterinarians - consultants - mechanical engineers; farmers / veterinarians - consumers) meant that the OG partners used formulations that were not understood by the others (e.g. biosecurity, feed conversion, losses, swab samples) or that the project participants understood different things (e.g. animal health and animal welfare). As a result, formulations and technical terms had to be repeatedly questioned and explained in order to establish a general understanding and to be able to leverage synergies through the collaboration of different disciplines with different experiences.
In the PDCA cycle, the competitiveness of a company is continuously improved. Already in the first workshop it became clear that a continuous improvement in the hygiene and health status can only be achieved through cooperation between farmers, veterinarians and consultants. As can be seen from the figure, farmers, veterinarians and consultants must work together to operate the continuous improvement process, like in a gear system.
Die interdisziplinäre Ausrichtung des Projektes (Wissenschaftler – Praktiker; Landwirte – Tierärzte – Berater – Maschinenbauer; Landwirte / Tierärzte – Verbraucher) führte dazu, dass die OG Partner Formulierungen benutzten, die von den anderen nicht verstanden wurden (z. B. Biosicherheit, Futterverwertung, Verluste, Abklatschproben) bzw. die Projektteilnehmer Unterschiedliches verstanden (z.B. Tiergesundheit und Tierwohl). Folglich mussten Formulierungen und Fachausdrücke immer wieder hinterfragt und erklärt werden, um ein allgemeines Verständnis herzustellen und um Synergien durch die Zusammenarbeit unterschiedlicher Disziplinen mit verschiedenen Erfahrungen heben zu können.
Im PDCA Zyklus wird die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit eines Unternehmens kontinuierlich verbessert. Schon im ersten Workshop stellte sich heraus, dass eine kontinuierliche Verbesserung des Hygiene- und Gesundheitsstatus nur durch eine Zusammenarbeit von Landwirt, Tierarzt und Berater zu erreichen ist. Wie der Abbildung zu entnehmen ist, müssen Landwirte, Tierärzte und Berater zusammenarbeiten, um, wie in einem Getriebe, den kontinuierlichen Verbesserungsprozess zu betreiben.
