Objectives
Application of innovative techniques in the field of nutrition in
order to reduce the use of antibiotics against digestive
problems in rabbits feeding, ensuring their health and
profitability for the farmer. The reduction of the use of
antibiotics is the main challenge that the rabbit sector face
currently.
The project is focused on studying several nutritional strategies
in rabbits with the aim of improving intestinal health and
therefore to allow the reduction / elimination of the use of
antibiotics. Better quality meat will be also achieved and the
seaweed production sector will be enhanced.
Objectives
Aplicación de técnicas innovadoras en el campo de la nutrición para para reducir el uso de antibióticos contra los problemas digestivos problemas digestivos en la alimentación de los conejos, asegurando su salud y rentabilidad para el ganadero. La reducción del uso de antibióticos es el principal reto al que se enfrenta el sector cunícolaactualmente.
El proyecto se centra en el estudio de varias estrategias nutricionales en conejos con el objetivo de mejorar la salud intestinal y por tanto, permitir la reducción/eliminación del uso de
antibióticos. También se conseguirá una carne de mayor calidad y se potenciará el sector de la producción de algas se verá reforzado.
Activities
Carrying out a survey about the real problems of rabbit farms,
healthy programs, use of antibiotics and healthy priorities for
the sector
Assessment of the effect of nutritional strategies (different
fractions of soluble and insoluble fibres / reduction of raw
protein) in digestive pathology, zoo-technical results and use of
antibiotics in rabbit breeding
Identification of the algae /derivative /extract with the greatest
effect on health in the kitten after weaning
Evaluation of the combination of the best nutritional strategy
and algae/extract on intestinal health in the kitten after
weaning, in digestive pathology, zoo-technical results and
antibiotics use in rabbit breeding

Realización de encuesta sobre la problemática real de las granjas de conejos, programas sanitarios, utilización de antibióticos y prioridades sanitarias del sector
Valoración del efecto de estrategias nutricionales en la patología digestiva, resultados zootécnicos y utilización de antibióticos en el cebo de conejos.
Identificación del alga/subproducto/extracto con mayor efecto sobre la salud intestinal en el gazapo tras el destete Evaluación de la combinación de la mejor estrategia nutricional y alga/extracto sobre la salud intestinal en el gazapo tras el destete, en la patología digestiva, resultados zootécnicos y utilización de antibióticos en el cebo de conejos.
