Objectives

The aim of the project is to improve sustainable forest management and the regional use of wood to increase climate protection effects in the south-east Upper Bavaria region. The project is also dedicated to the conversion to a sustainable development of climate-resistant and fast-growing mixed forests in the target region.

Ziel des Projektes ist die Verbesserung der nachhaltigen Waldbewirtschaftung und der regionalen Verwendung von Holz zur Steigerung der Klimaschutzeffekte in der Region Südost-Oberbayern. Das Projekt widmet sich auch der Umstellung auf eine nachhaltige Entwicklung von klimaresistenten und zuwachsstarken Mischwäldern in der Zielregion.

Activities

The regionally achieved CO2 avoidance and storage effects of the entire regional value chain (including timber construction and wood energy) will be scientifically analysed and balanced. This includes not only the agricultural sector, but also the building and energy sector. The positive effects of proactive forest conversion to climate-resistant mixed stands will also be demonstrated.

 

Activities

Die regional erzielten CO2-Vermeidungs- und -speichereffekte der gesamten regionalen Wertschöpfungskette (einschließlich Holzbau und Holzenergie) werden wissenschaftlich analysiert und bilanziert. Dies umfasst nicht nur den Agrarsektor, sondern auch den Gebäude- und Energiesektor. Die positiven Effekte eines proaktiven Waldumbaus zu klimaresistenten Mischbestände werden ebenfalls aufgezeigt.
