Rural "third places" in France and Belgium
Over 150 project leaders, associations, practitioners and researchers from Wallonia, Brussels and the North of France gathered in Belgium in November 2022 to discuss rural "third places", their roles, challenges and mechanisms of support.

In a context strained by health, economic, political and climate crises, rural areas are facing increasingly pressing challenges of resilience, accessibility, social cohesion and solidarity. All over Wallonia (Belgium), individuals and associations are taking up these questions and taking action. New civic spaces are emerging with local roots. They bring together various energies, decompartmentalize, weave and experiment with other ways of "doing things together".
Last November, over 150 project leaders, associations, practitioners and researchers from Wallonia, Brussels and the North of France gathered at Le Monty in Genappe (Belgium) to discuss rural "third places", their roles, challenges and mechanisms of support.
