The conference was organized through the work of the Thematic Working Group: "Green Architecture", which was established within the framework the National Common Agricultural Policy Network in Croatia.

The conference was aimed at farmers who are in transition from conservation practices to regenerative agriculture and for all those who are just starting on this path. In this light, presentations and interactions with farmers presented a new way and model of financing the economy, which is primarily a response to climate change and raising awareness of how additional income can be made through good and beneficial practices for the climate and the environment.

The attendees were addressed by: Mr. Vaclav Kurel (Carboneg), owner of a carbon credit trading company; Mr. Lubomir Marhavy, private consultant and coordinator of activities between farmers and buyers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia; Mr. Karel Kalny, farmer, livestock breeder and crop farmer in a mixed economy; Mr. Mladen Ferenčak and Mr. Kristijan Tatatrević, domestic farmers who have been involved in these practices for many years; Ms. Tatjana Martinović, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Presentations were held on the issue of carbon farming based on regenerative farming principles and the question on how we get carbon in the soil was explained. In this context, photosynthesis and symbiosis of plants and soil microorganisms were presented, as well as the ways how farmers should not destroy life in the soil.

  • A reward system for regenerative farming practices;
  • Better practices = higher support for overall biodiversity;
  • Additional financial support for each ton of CO2 stored in the soil;
  • Up to 30% more than the basic reward;
  • Overall, you can earn up to 26 EUR/ha/year were highlighted as a bonus for advanced regenerative practices.
