Objectives
Changing societal context: with a decrease in the number of farmers, an aging population: in 2019, 50% of farmers are over 50 years old, a range and working hours beyond the norm, a peri-urban extension , with more neo-rural complaints (traffic, noise, smell, etc.)
For crops, less systematic use of phytosanitary products implies more vigilance, necessary observation, more mechanical intervention (in connection with weeding)

The development of autonomous robots is an important issue for agriculture and crop production in particular.
Objectives
Contexte sociétal en mutation : avec une diminution du nombre d’agriculteurs, une population vieillissante : en 2019, 50% des agriculteurs ont plus de 50 ans, une amplitude et des horaires de travail au-delà de la norme, une extension péri-urbaine, avec plus de plaintes de néo ruraux (circulation, bruit, odeur...)
Pour les cultures, moins de recours aux produits phytosanitaires de façon systématique implique plus de vigilance, d’observation nécessaire, plus d’intervention mécanique (en lien avec le désherbage).
Le développement des robots autonomes constitue un enjeu important pour l'agriculture et les productions végétales en particulier.

1 Practice Abstracts
The development of robotics responds to several challenges:
On the social level: it makes it possible to compensate for the lack of labor in the agricultural sector, to reduce working time, the difficulty of construction sites by performing tedious and repetitive tasks
On the environmental level: it allows the implementation of facilitated and “permanent” mechanical weeding, the implementation of “ultralocalized” chemical weeding, the precision of the interventions allowing savings in inputs, less soil compaction ( much lighter machines), a majority use of electricity (reduction of GHG emissions).
On the economic level: it makes it possible to increase the activity for interventions over short periods (24 hours a day and 7 days a week): the working day of a robot is "extended".
However, this opportunity remains to be validated given the still high investments.
The investment being high, the objective will be to assess the possibility of mobilizing the Cuma on this type of equipment.
Le développement de la robotique répond à plusieurs enjeux :
Sur le plan social : il permet de compenser le manque de main d’œuvre dans le secteur agricole, de réduire le temps de travail, la pénibilité des chantiers en effectuant des tâches fastidieuses et répétitives
Sur le plan environnemental : il permet la mise en œuvre du désherbage mécanique facilité et “permanent”, la mise en œuvre du désherbage chimique “ultralocalisé”, la précision des interventions permettant de réaliser des économies d’intrants, un moindre tassement des sols (engins beaucoup plus léger), un recours majoritaire à l'électrique (réduction d'émission de GES).
Sur le plan économique : il permet d’augmenter l’activité pour les interventions sur des périodes courtes (24h/24 et 7J/7) : la journée de travail d’un robot est « étendue ».
Cependant cette opportunité reste à valider compte tenu des investissements encore élevés.
L’investissement étant élevé, l’objectif sera d’expertiser la possibilité de mobiliser les Cuma sur ce type de matériel.
