Kontext
The aim is to reduce the losses of pesticides into surface water and groundwater bodies. Currently, no systems of cleaning and disposal are in place.
Lo scopo è ridurre i residui chimici derivati dall'uso di prodotti fitofarmaci nelle acque. L'applicazione di sistemi di pulizia nella pratica agricola e tuttavia finora ancora inesistente in Alto Adige.
Objectives
• Identification of requirements for single-farm or communal concepts for a more sustainable handling of phytosanitary products during filling and cleaning of the sprayer
• Elaboration of solutions (at single-farm or communal level) for orchards and vineyards in order to reduce point source pollution of water
• Development of guidelines for the implementation and application of sprayer-filling and cleaning solutions for orchards and vineyards, in order to show sustainable methods to handle pesticides to protect soil and water
Objectives
- Individuazione dei requisiti per i concetti aziendali o comunali per una gestione più sostenibile dei prodotti fitosanitari durante il riempimento e la pulizia dell'irroratrice.
- Elaborazione di soluzioni (a livello aziendale o sovra-aziendale) per frutteti e vigneti al fine di ridurre l'inquinamento idrico da fonti puntuali.
- Sviluppo di linee guida per l'implementazione e l'applicazione di soluzioni di riempimento a spruzzo e di pulizia per frutteti e vigneti, al fine di mostrare metodi sostenibili di uso dei pesticidi per la protezione del suolo e dell'acqua
Activities
Preparation of practical guidelines for the filling and cleaning of phytosanitary equipment. The systems that will be evaluated in the project work will be both, single-farm installations and centralised installations that can be used by multiple farms.

Elaborazione di proposte pratiche e sviluppo di un piano per il riempimento e la pulizia di irroratrici in frutticoltura e viticoltura. Gli impianti che vengono studiati nel progetto, possono essere installati in azienda oppure in luoghi comuni che possono essere utilizzati da diversi agricoltori.

Expected impact:
• Foundation for the application of alternative methods for environmentally friendly filling and cleaning of sprayers
• Developed decision support for farmers, agricultural consultants and the public sector and possible suppliers of interfirm solutions
• Sensitization of farmers and prospective farmers in orchards and vineyards
• Mitigate the current problem of selective water pollution in rural areas with high frequency of pesticide application
• Improve water quality and the water, which are contaminated by pesticides Spreaders
• Promote and support the rationalization of water use (decontamination and recycling) by wastewater treatment by biologically active substrate
• Appreciation of the food produced in orchards and vineyards
• mproving quality of life in rural areas through the conservation of existing resources such as rivers, streams, lakes habitats etc.
