Hope for Swedish hops - Beer production with flavours and local identity from Swedish hop cultivars
The innovation is to develop beer from Swedish hop sorts with known sensory properties, resulting in final products of high quality capable of withstanding the competition on the Swedish market.
The innovation improves the competitiveness of Swedish hop growers. Better knowledge about the qualities of Swedish hops increases the chances of selling to breweries and thereby the grower´s competitiveness is increased. The breweries get an chance to increase their competitiveness by profiling themselves regarding the taste of Swedish hops and locally produced goods.

Innovationen består i att utveckla öl framställd på svenska humlesorter med kända sensoriska egenskaper där slutprodukterna håller en hög kvalitet som klarar konkurrensen på den svenska marknaden.
Innovationen förbättrar konkurrenskraften för svenska humleodlare. När kunskapen om kvalitén hos svenska humlesorter förbättras ökas chanserna till att kunna sälja till bryggerier och därmed ökar odlarens konkurrenskraft. Bryggerierna får chans att förbättra sin konkurrenskraft genom att profilera sig mot smak av svensk humle och lokala råvaror.
Activities
This project will, using internationally standardised methods, characterize and evaluate sensory qualities of Swedish hop sorts and the final product after test brewing. The results of the analysis will be saved and updated in a register and made available for growers and breweries.

Det här projektet kommer med internationellt standardiserade metoder karakterisera och utvärdera sensoriska egenskaper hos svenska humlesorter samt i slutprodukten efter testbryggning. Analysresultaten kommer sparas och uppdateras i ett register och finnas tillgängliga för odlare och bryggerier.
