Objectives
This cooperation project focuses on the processing of hemp straw into sustainable products for animal husbandry and horticulture. Working together on the development of cultivation and quality criteria. From the project results recommendations for hemp cultivation under Thuringia site conditions will be derived. Likewise important is the development and optimization of harvesting and processing technology, depending on the end product. The following aims are pursued with the project: expansion of hemp cultivation in Thuringia and increase of the added value potential through innovative use of fibers.
Objectives
Im Fokus dieses Kooperationsvorhabens steht die Verarbeitung des Hanfstrohs zu nachhaltigen Produkten für die Tierhaltung und den Gartenbau. Gemeinsam wird an der Entwicklung von Anbau- und Qualitätskriterien gearbeitet. Aus den Projektergebnissen sollen zum einen Handlungsempfehlungen für den Hanfanbau unter Thüringer Standortbedingungen abgeleitet werden. Gleichermaßen ist die Entwicklung und Optimierung von Ernte- und Verarbeitungstechnik, in Abhängigkeit des Endproduktes von Bedeutung. Mit dem Projekt werden folgende Ziele verfolgt: Ausweitung des Hanfanbaus in Thüringen und Steigerung des Wertschöpfungspotenzials durch innovative Nutzung der Fasern.
Activities
As possible field of application for the hemp fibers and shives in animal welfare, the use of employment materials for pig keeping, lying mats for cattle as well as floor protection mats for the exercise of laying hens are developed and tested among other things. For the field of gardening and landscaping, mats of fibers (fleece) made from different compositions of hemp raw materials are tested. Also for the packaging sector materials from the renewable raw material hemp, with regional origins are sought.
Activities
Als Einsatzmöglichkeiten der Hanffasern und -schäben werden im Bereich des Tierwohls unter anderem Beschäftigungsmaterialien für die Schweinehaltung, Liegematten für Rinder sowie Bodenschutzmatten für den Auslauf von Legehennen entwickelt und erprobt. Für den Bereich Garten- und Landschaftsbau werden Vliese, aus unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzung der Hanfrohstoffe getestet. Auch für den Verpackungssektor ist eine Entwicklung von Materialien aus dem nachwachsenden Rohstoff Hanf, mit regionaler Herkunft angestrebt.
