Connecting advisers to boost interactive innovation in agriculture and forestry is the main aim of the i2connect project which started in 2020. It fuels the competencies of advisors who support and facilitate interactive innovation processes.

The project has recently launched its ‘Advisory Service Database’. This is an EU-wide directory of professional organisations and individuals providing knowledge and advisory services in agriculture, forestry, horticulture and other related fields along the agro-food value chain and rural areas. Users of the database can search for an advisor or advisory organisation. This will become a valuable knowledge resource about sustainable agriculture and forestry advisory services in the EU.

i2connect Horizon 2020 project calls all advisors and advisory organisations to become part of its community by registering on the Advisory Services Database.

Agriculture and forestry advisers - share your success stories

i2connect is also organising a competition for best practical case in innovation support across Europe:

Times are changing! All across Europe, the farm and forestry enterprises are facing major social, economic, and environmental challenges – as well as unprecedented opportunities. Innovation is a key factor in continual adaptation to these various and sometimes contradictory challenges, and in taking advantage of new opportunities. i2connect

The contest will seek out innovative, inspiring and interactive initiatives from agriculture and forestry, specifically those which bring together diverse expertise from people with different backgrounds.

All submitted cases will be available on the i2connect website for international recognition and there will be other dissemination support. Competition winners will be invited to participate in European cross-visits.

The call for submissions remains open, with several evaluation periods.

Other useful materials for advisors

The project has produced a wide range of resources for farm and forestry advisors and other Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) stakeholders. These resources include AKIS country reports, practical cases, a learning platform, as well as a library to download many other useful materials.
