Examples of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects working on farming and biodiversity

Horizon projects

Many Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects are focusing on biodiversity enhancement. Find some examples below :

  • BIOVALUE is analysing the holistic link between biodiversity, agro-food value chain agents, the environment, consumer food preferences and health.
  • B-THENET is a thematic network implementing a multi-actor approach to make the EU beekeeping sector more economically viable and sustainable (also see Cordis page)
  • CROPDIVA is working on enhancing European crop diversity and agrobiodiversity, putting six underused arable crops back in the fields.
  • EcoStack is enhancing ecosystem services for an improved and sustainable farming systems.
  • Farmer Clusters for Realising Agrobiodiversity Management across Ecosystems (FRAMEwork) is about sharing knowledge, testing innovative practices for collective landscape-scale biodiversity enhancement in agroecosytems and making recommending improvements to how we value biodiversity and ecosystem services in our agrifoodsystem.
  • MarginUP ! is developing sustainable and circular value chains by introducing climate resilient and biodiversity-friendly non-food crops on marginal and low-productivity lands.
