EIP-AGRI Innovation Awards - vote for your favourite by 3 May

Discover the nominees for the 2024 EIP-AGRI Innovation Awards for Operational Groups.

A hand holds a lighbulb signifying innovation

Since 2012, more than 3 400 Operational Groups (OGs) have been set up across Europe. These innovative and practical projects have contributed to the increased productivity and sustainability of agriculture and forestry in the EU. And you can now vote for your favourite!

In May 2024, the EU CAP Network is celebrating and showcasing the great variety of innovative OG projects and their achievements. The EU CAP Network conference ‘EIP-AGRI Operational Groups: Innovation in practice’ will take place in Estoril, Portugal, and as part of this, the EIP-AGRI Innovation Awards 2024 ceremony will be held.

The main objective of the EIP-AGRI Innovation Awards is to recognise and reward outstanding EIP-AGRI OGs which have developed innovative practices, solutions, products and processes. These OGs are either already completed or in their final stages. There are six award categories with five nominees per category: sustainable management of natural resources in farming practices; business models in food supply chains; animal welfare and husbandry; climate change mitigation and adaptation; sustainable forest management; and digitalisation. Detailed information on the categories can be found on the awards webpage.

Applications for OG projects were open between December 2023 and February 2024, and we are now pleased to announce the 30 nominees. Within each category, an expert jury will select one winner among the five nominees and we invite you to vote for your favourite. A seventh award will be given to the ‘public favourite’. All of the winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on 7 May 2024.

The projects nominated are from various countries and encompass a diverse range of topics, techniques and forms. They bring together different types of partners to achieve their goals. Some have developed new food products, technologies to facilitate production, labels and value chains, solutions for sustainable pest control in crop systems, tools to support and preserve pollinator populations, strategies addressing farm and forest functionality and biodiversity, circular economy practices for tackling the impacts of climate change… and much more.

Vote for your favourite before 3 May 2024!
