Latvian Network

The Latvian Common Agricultural Policy Network (Rural Network), whose operation is provided by the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Center, promotes cooperation, information and knowledge exchange in the field of agriculture, forestry and rural development between various participating organisations and individuals, including farmers, foresters, local action groups, rural communities, consultants and researchers supporting the implementation of the Latvian Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan. It also operates as the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) and the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Support Unit.

Objectives

The vision of the Latvian CAP Network – networking between organisations working in the field of rural development, agriculture and forestry, rural communities, institutions, consultants, researchers and participants in the field of innovation, and other stakeholders, is ensured at the national and local level. In order to ensure the networking of the involved parties, the Latvian CAP Network has the following objectives:

  • To increase the involvement of all relevant stakeholders in the implementation of rural development and CAP Strategic Plans and, where appropriate, in their development, as well as promote learning from peers;
  • To improve the quality of CAP Strategic Plan and Rural Development Programme (RDP) implementation;
  • To participate in informing the public and potential beneficiaries about the CAP, rural development policy and financing opportunities;
  • To promote innovations in agriculture and rural development and support the inclusion and mutual interaction of all parties involved in the process of knowledge exchange and knowledge creation;
  • To help administrative authorities implement the CAP Strategic Plan and transition to the new implementation model based on results;
  • To support the monitoring and evaluation capabilities of the relevant bodies.

Membership

Who can join?

Any natural or legal person who wants to get involved in the development of agricultural and rural areas can become a member of the Latvian CAP Network.

How to get involved?

You can get involved by participating in Latvian CAP network activities, signing up for network news or contacting the Support Unit and creating closer cooperation in information exchange.

Regional representation

26 LLKC regional offices implement part of the activities of the Latvian CAP Network, also ensuring the exchange of information closer to residents, entrepreneurs and organisations of rural areas.
