The fifth meeting of the EU CAP Network's Steering Group took place on 28 October 2025 in Brussels.

The Steering Group is one of the main governance bodies of the European CAP Network alongside the Assembly. It follows up on the work of the EU CAP Network; in particular, it ensures good coordination of the thematic work of the Network.

The operational tasks of the Steering Group are:

Preparing and following up the activities of the EU CAP Network, in accordance with the strategic framework provided by the Assembly;
Coordinating the thematic strands in accordance with the framework provided by the Assembly and following up on its implementation;
Assessing on an ongoing basis the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities of the EU CAP Network;
Ensuring the coordination of the work of the Assembly with that of other relevant expert groups and committees; and
Reporting to the Assembly on its activities.

The objectives of the meeting were:

Updating on the EU CAP Network activities and other EU initiatives relevant for the network;
Presenting the outcomes of the Subgroups meetings;
Preparing the agenda for the 5th EU CAP Network Assembly;
Discussing the data collected for the Strategic Framework of the EU CAP Network, and how it could be analysed;
Reviewing potential topics for the Annual Work Programme (AWP) 2026-2027.
