Ad-hoc national expert group meeting

An online ad-hoc expert meeting is planned on 12 June 2024 to contribute to the preparatory work of three new Focus Groups.

For this year’s national expert group meeting, the following three Focus Group themes are selected for discussion:

  • Theme 1: New plant protein sources / production of protein or leguminous crops under climate change
  • Theme 2: Local plant genetic resources in view of climate change and biodiversity loss
  • Theme 3: Alternative strategies for sustainable livestock systems

The meeting will include a plenary session and three breakouts to discuss the specific Focus Group topics.

Outcomes for each theme

  • The background and major challenges that farmers, foresters and rural businesses are facing when it comes to adopting knowledge and innovation in their practices, and the aims of the Focus Group or networking event in contributing to knowledge and innovation exchange;
  • A main question that the Focus Group should respond to in its activities;
  • A set of main tasks planned for the Focus Group or networking event, including sharing best practices and success stories, identifying challenges, barriers and opportunities, research needs from practice, innovative ideas, etc.;
  • A draft concept note for each Focus Group or event in the selected theme that can be the basis for the future call for Focus Group experts or for networking event activities.

The EU CAP Network is currently looking for experts that can provide input during the ad-hoc national expert group meeting.

Please provide us with your CV, indicating the thematic area from the above list that you are interested in. Your CV should show specific and concrete expertise in this thematic area.

Good to know

  • If you apply, you should block the meeting date in your agenda: 12 June 2024, 9:00 – 13:00.
  • The meeting will be held on Teams.
  • We will inform all applicants of the outcome of their application on 24 May 2024.
  • When the Focus Group calls are open for coordinating experts and experts, national experts can also apply.
