Thematic networks are multi-actor projects that collect existing knowledge and good practices on a given theme to make these available in easily understandable formats for end users such as farmers, foresters, advisors and others.
Thematic networks specifically aim to:
- collect existing knowledge and good practices on a given theme and facilitate their sharing and use among practitioners on the ground
- develop easily understandable material for practice, such as videos, brochures, practice abstracts, etc. and disseminate it via the channels that are most consulted by practitioners
- make sure that the material they produce is available on a long-term basis and easily accessible to end users such as farmers, foresters, advisors, etc.
There are three types of thematic networks:
- bottom-up, of which the theme is defined by the project consortium
- top-down, of which the theme is predefined in the call
- focused on broadening EIP-AGRI Operational Group projects outcomes across borders.
So far, 65 thematic networks were funded under both Horizon programmes, i.e. 40 thematic networks under the former Horizon 2020 programme, 25 under Horizon Europe, with more in the pipeline.
