Social inclusion of Roma through LEADER/CLLD

This factsheet explores social inclusion of Roma people through LEADER/CLLD. The majority of Roma in the EU face discrimination which results in exclusion and persistent poverty. 

In rural areas, lack of economic opportunities, poor public services, and sub-standard housing and infrastructure are specific challenges. LEADER/CLLD not only offers opportunities to accomplish concrete improvements, but also stimulates active involvement of Roma in community life.
