Objectives
Measure A - Concept development:
The goal is to develop a concept that proves that with proper fertilisation and management, the C02 balance in grassland is much better than its reputation. The project to be derived from the concept should bring enough knowledge to improve the yield and the formation of new roots in grassland, through an integrated considered site-specific fertilization. Micro- and macronutrients, as well as correlations between these nutrients, will also be considered.

Maßnahme A - Konzepterstellung:
Das Ziel ist die Ausarbeitung eines Konzeptes, welches den Nachweis erbringt, dass mit richtiger Düngung und Bewirtschaftung die C02-Bilanz im Grünland wesentlich besser ist als ihr Ruf. Das aus Konzept abzuleitende Projekt soll Erkenntnisse zur Verbesserung des Ertrages und der Wurzelneubildung im Grünland, durch ganzheitliche teilflächenspezifische Düngung ermöglichen. Hier sollen Mikro- und Makronährstoffe, sowie Korrelationen der Nährstoffe zueinander berücksichtigt werden.
Activities
- Prior selection of the trial plots with help of satellite data to determine the biomass growth in order to classify the plots into yield zones (high, medium, low).
- Subdivision of the trial on several grassland sites in three different yield zones in order to investigate the humus development, and find out if optimisation through fertilisation is possible.
- Planning of different management and/or fertilisation strategies.
- Planning and co-ordination of data collection.
Activities
- Vorherige Auswahl der Versuchsflächen mithilfe von Satellitendaten zur Ermittlung des Biomassesaufwuchses, um die Flächen in Ertragszonen (hoch, mittel, niedrig) zu kategorisieren.
- Unterteilung des Versuches auf mehreren Grünlandstandorten in drei unterschiedlichen Ertragszonen, damit den Humusaufbau und eine mögliche Optimierung durch Düngung untersucht werden kann.
- Planung verschiedener Bewirtschaftungs- und/oder Düngestrategien.
- Planung und Koordination der Datenerhebung.
Context
According to practical experiences of grassland farmers different grassland areas react differently to management and fertilisation strategies. This was also confirmed by soil analyses. These facts have aroused the interest to deal with this topic more intensively. It is assumed that the Albrecht method (a holistic fertilisation strategy) has great potential to improve N efficiency in grassland. This would also result in an improvement of the C02 balance. This assumption shall be investigated and analysed.
Praxiserfahrungen von Grünland-Landwirten zeigen, wie unterschiedlich die einzelnen Grünlandflächen auf unterschiedliche Bewirtschaftungs- und Düngestrategien reagieren. Dies konnte bereits mit Bodenanalysen bestätigt werden. Somit war die Idee geboren sich intensiver mit dem Thema zu beschäftigen. Es wird vermutet, dass die Albrecht-Methode (eine ganzheitliche Düngestrategie) großes Potential hat, die N-Effizienz im Grünland zu verbessern. Das hätte auch eine Verbesserung der C02-Bilanz zur Folge. Diese Annahme soll nun untersucht und analysiert werden.
