Objectives
The objective of the project is to identify horticultural plant species of cosmetic interest and pharmaceuticals containing active ingredients sought by these industrial sectors. These species could be a source of diversification and use of the greenhouse tool for horticulturalists in slack periods of production and open new markets. The project will focus on defining an economic framework for this diversification and evaluating its production potential.

L’objectif du projet est d’identifier des espèces végétales horticoles d’intérêt cosmétique et pharmaceutiques contenant des principes actifs recherchés par ces filières industrielles. Ces espèces pourraient constituer une source de diversification et d’utilisation de l’outil serre pour les horticulteurs en périodes creuses de production et ouvrir de nouveaux marchés. Le projet s’attachera à définir un cadre économique pour cette diversification et en évaluer le potentiel de production.

1 Practice Abstracts
The objective of the project is to identify horticultural plant species of cosmetic interest and pharmaceuticals containing active ingredients sought by these industrial sectors. These species could be a source of diversification and use of the greenhouse tool for horticulturalists in slack periods of production and open new markets. The project will focus on defining an economic framework for this diversification and evaluating its production potential.
Expected results: to open up new market prospects for the Normandy horticultural sector by allowing optimization of their production tool throughout the year, highlighting plants and molecules of interest for industrial use, developing production techniques adapted to these new uses.
The University of Tours will have as its role to carry out the chromatographic analyzes (method of separating the compounds and identifying them). Nov & atech, whose core business is the development of Normandy's agricultural resources, will act as an interface with the industrial sector through its network and expertise.

Résultats attendus : ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives de marchés pour la filière horticole normande en permettant une optimisation de leur outil de production tout au long de l’année, mettre en évidence des plantes et molécules d’intérêt à usage industriel, développer de techniques de production adaptées à ces nouveaux usages.
L’Université de Tours aura comme aura le rôle d’effectuer les analyses chromatographiques (méthode consistant à séparer les composés et les identifier). Nov&atech, dont le cœur de métier est la valorisation des ressources agricoles normandes jouera le rôle d’interface avec les industriels de part son réseau et son expertise.
