Objectives

The aim of the project is to prevent or to limit the evolution of pesticide resistance so avoiding inefficacious and repeated pesticide applications that increase production costs and water and soil pollution. To get this, both by new fast and reliable diagnostic tools will be developed and validated and reducing pesticide pressure executing alternative and more sustainable pest management strategies with lower impact on water and soil.

Objectives

Il progetto si pone l’obiettivo di prevenire e/o limitare l’evoluzione della resistenza e quindi evitare interventi chimici inefficaci e reiterati che determinano aumento dei costi e inquinamento delle acque e del suolo sia sviluppando e validando strumenti diagnostici innovativi, rapidi ed efficaci, sia riducendo la pressione della difesa di tipo chimico implementando strategie alternative che rendano più sostenibile e meno impattante sulle acque e sul suolo la difesa fitosanitaria stessa.

Activities

Development and validation of LAMP-based diagnostic protocols in weeds (Amaranthus spp), pathogens (P. viticola, B. cinerea) and phytophagous pests (aphids and Tetranychus urticae).
Development and validation of ddPCR based diagnostic protocols to quantify the presence of resistance in P. viticola, S. vesicarium and Z. tritici.
Validation of mating disruption for pear psylla based on "sexual pheromones" and "vibrations".
Demonstration activities in vineyards on the effect of selected cover crops on the containment of downy mildew infections.

Sviluppo e validazione di protocolli di diagnosi della resistenza basati su LAMP in malerbe (Amaranthus spp), patogeni (P. viticola, B. cinerea) e fitofagi (afidi e Tetranychus urticae).
Sviluppo e validazione di protocolli diagnostici basati ddPCR per quantificare la presenza di resistenza in P. viticola, S. vesicarium e Z. tritici.
Validazione di un sistema di confusione sessuale per psilla del pero basato su “feromoni sessuali” e su “vibrazioni”.
Svolgimento di prove dimostrative in vigneto sull’effetto di cover crops selezionate sul contenimento delle infezioni di peronospora
