Context

Phytophthora is zowel wereldwijd als in Nederland de meest verwoestende aardappelziekte, met veel opbrengstverlies en bestrijdingsmiddelengebruik tot gevolg.

Activities

By developing an IPM approach, the collaborating partners in this project (Mts. Bartelen and Solynta) aim to significantly improve the control of Phytophthora. Improvements in both cultivation methods and genetics are being looked at. With the results of this project, the position of the arable farmer on the local and export market can be further strengthened. In addition, the project aims to achieve major environmental gains through reduced substance use.

Door de ontwikkeling van een IPM aanpak pogen de samenwerkende partners in dit project (Mts. Bartelen en Solynta) de beheersing van Phytophthora significant te verbeteren. Er wordt gekeken naar verbeteringen in zowel teeltmethoden als genetica. Met de resultaten van dit project kan de positie van de akkerbouwer op de lokale- en exportmarkt verder worden versterkt. Hiernaast beoogt het project grote milieuwinst te boeken door middel van verminderd middelengebruik.
