Contexte

Objectives

The objective of the group is developing an analysis of the oil cooperatives during the extraction and transformation of the oil and derived from this study the development of improvement strategies for the increase of the technical, economic and environmental efficiency of the mills that allow a more efficient use of energy, water and reduction of the environmental impact of said industry. It will generate a significant impact on the sector in the improvement of decision making on key environmental and economic factors

Activities

The operative group will allow obtaining new mathematical and statistical models linked to the processes of the mills, with new analysis techniques. Through the taking of data in the field, analysis and subsequent dissemination in the sector and research groups.

1 Practice Abstracts

The project will generate an important impact in the sector. Nowadays, it doesn´t exist researches which focus on the olive oil transformer sector, in particular about the efficiency and sustainability of the oil mills, for this reason, it can´t draw conclusions in order to use in decision making in these companies.

The project proposes new methods of analysis for analyzing technical efficiency of the mills and its factors, improving the level of quality of production and obtaining environmental good practice.

These results become the project a bioeconomic approach hence it will be a direct application for improvement of extraction processes.

The project allows:

• To define efficient processes from the economic and environmental approach.

• To detect critical process points

• To identify an improvement strategy.

• To define effective and real improvement activities in order to improve the efficiency of the mills.
