Objectives
The end of the approval of glyphosate requires practical alternatives to eliminate weeds and volunteer grains before sowing the main crop. Mechanical, electrophysical and biological alternatives were tested and evaluated in the cultivation system of plowless tillage.

Das Ende der Zulassung von Glyphosat erfordert praxistaugliche Alternativen zur Beseitigung von Unkräutern und Ausfallgetreide vor der Saat der Hauptkultur. Im Anbausystem der pfluglosen Bodenbearbeitung wurden mechanische, elektrophysikalische und biologische Alternativen erprobt und bewertet.
Activities
The projekt is developing a strategy for alternative cultivation systems without glyphosate in order to be able to continue to practice plowless agriculture and direct sowing with all its advantages, including in the sense of integrated crop protection. To this end, the project is testing various strategies within a three-year crop rotation with the aim of suppressing unwanted weeds. The use of herbicides is contrasted with practice-driven new developments, such as electrophysical weed control and alternative solutions using mechanical and biological processes (catch crops, undersown crops, companion plants).

Das Projekt entwickelt eine Strategie zu alternativen Anbausystemen bei Glyphosatverzicht, um weiterhin pfluglosen Ackerbau und Direktsaat mit all seinen Vorteilen auch im Sinne des integrierten Pflanzenschutzes betreiben zu können. Hierzu erprobt das Projekt innerhalb einer dreijährigen Fruchtfolge verschiedene Strategien mit dem Ziel, unerwünschte Beikräuter zu unterdrücken. Dem Herbizideinsatz werden hierbei praxisgetriebene Neuentwicklungen, wie die elektrophysikalische Unkrautbekämpfung und alternative Lösungsansätze mechanischer und biologischer Verfahren (Zwischenfrüchte, Untersaaten, Begleitpflanzen) gegenübergestellt.
