Objectives

The main goal is the realization of a project that allows the production and commercialization of a food or supplement food based on the antitumor properties of the cultivated mushrooms. The changes on the growing methodology will increase the antitumor capacity of the cultivated mushrooms.

El objetivo general del grupo operativo es la realización de un proyecto que permita la producción y comercialización de un alimento o complemento alimenticio basado en las propiedades antitumorales de los hongos cultivados, cuya producción de sustancias antitumorales será incrementada mediante la actuación sobre la metodología de cultivo y/o materias primas.

Activities

Various methodologies applicable in the growing cycle (raw materials, composting process) will be selected to obtain cultivated mushrooms with increased antitumor capacity. The enriched mushrooms will be evaluated by in vitro culture techniques with tumor and non-tumor cells to determine their antitumor capacity and the absence of toxicity on normal cells to obtain a functional food / food supplement.

Activities

Se seleccionarán diversas metodologías aplicables en el ciclo de cultivo o las materias primas (proceso de compostaje) para la obtención de hongos cultivados con capacidad antitumoral incrementada. Los hongos enriquecidos serán evaluados mediante técnicas de cultivo in vitro con células tumorales y no tumorales para determinar su capacidad antitumoral y la ausencia de toxicidad sobre las células normales obteniendo un alimento funcional/complemento alimenticio.
