Objectives
The aim of the project is to create a new milk value chain in accordance with the TSG "Heumilch" developed in Austria: Food mainly with grass and without any fermented food of animal origin or GMO. This milk is sought after by cheese makers as it is less prone to health defects. In Wallonia, to meet these criteria, it is practically obligatory to dry the grass inside. In these conditions, the hay obtained by fast drying out of the sun is particularly interesting for livestock (health, well-being), the farmer (working conditions), profitability (autonomy, palatability).
Objectives
L'objectif du projet est de créer une nouvelle filière de valorisation du lait conformément à la STG "Heumilch" développée en Autriche: Alimentation principalement avec de l'herbe et sans aucun aliment fermenté, d'origine animale ou OGM. Ce lait est recherché par les fromagers car il est moins sujet au défauts sanitaires. En Wallonie, pour répondre à ces critères, il est pratiquement obligatoire de sécher l'herbe à l'intérieur. Dans ces conditions, le foin obtenu par un séchage rapide à l'abri du soleil est particulièrement intéressant pour le bétail (santé, bien-être), l'éleveur (conditions de travail), la rentabilité (autonomie, appétence).

Establishment of a procedure to produce "TSG hay-milk": control plan, certification body
Mobilisation of public aid for supporting the investment of hay-drying halls and in marketing tools for breeders involved in the TSG
Communication: writing of an extension leaflet, organisation of field visits, organisation of development workshops, information website, publications in the press, videos ...
Creation of a differentiated quality mark for processing products of "TSG hay-milk"
Establishment of training cursus.

Mobilisation d'aides publiques pour l'investissement des halls de séchage et à la commercialisation de la STG
Communication: rédaction d'un document de vulgarisation, organisation de visites de terrain, organisation d'ateliers de discussion, site web d'information, publications dans la presse, vidéos...
Création d'une marque de qualité différentiée pour les produits de transformation du "lait de foin STG"

Le séchage de l'herbe en grange permet de produire du foin de très haute qualité tant pour la production que la santé des animaux. Toutefois cette technique réclame un investissement initial très élevé. Le projet a donc cherché à faciliter l'accès aux techniques, aux aides, aux crédits, à la commercialisation avec une meilleur marge bénéficiaire. Pour développer ces appuis, une association a été constituée en juillet 2018, réunissant principalement des éleveurs, mais aussi des fromagers, des formateurs, des conseillers, des chercheurs...
