5G for Smart Communities: Call for proposals now open

The European Commission has launched the calls for proposals under the ‘Connecting Europe Facility – Digital’ programme. With a total budget of €50 million, these calls will exploit new opportunities provided by 5G networks.

The European Commission has launched the second part of the calls for proposals under the ‘Connecting Europe Facility – Digital’ (CEF Digital) programme. With a total budget of €50 million, this newly launched ‘5G for Smart Communities’ action will contribute to the deployment of 5G-based systems that support services of general interest, for citizens across the EU.

Projects funded under this ‘5G for smart communities and innovative applications’ call will exploit new opportunities provided by 5G networks, and help deliver efficient and more resilient public services. These calls may be especially relevant for municipalities, schools, hospitals, and other public authorities.

The calls are open and available on the ‘Funding & tender opportunities’ page until 23 February 2023.
