Physical & demographic characteristics of LAG area

We are a French Local Action Groupe named Vallons de Vilaine situated in the area of the city of Rennes (Bretagne). The Syndicat Mixte des Vallons de Vilaine is a public establishment and a space for territorial cooperation that allows to put in common the resources on various themes and planning issues like urban planning, local development, tourism etc. It is a project of territory, the Vallons de Vilaine works with its local authorities, partners, and residents. 

Our territory covers 38 municipalities and more than 75 0000 inhabitants.

Assets & land use of the LAG area

Our LEADER strategy is focused on land sobriety, renewable energy, innovative forms of mobility and slow-tourism.

The cooperation actions that we could develop together are :

• Innovative cooperation operations to strengthen centralities and the land sobriety

• Cooperation operations around the potential for the development of one or more renewable energies allowing the territory to become more self-sufficient in energy

• Cooperation operations on the development of alternative mobility

• Cooperation operations on the development of innovative offers in the field of slow-tourism
