In this SafeHabitus webinar, we will look at the importance of complete data in fostering the development of effective policies that improve working conditions on family farms across Europe.

Self-employed farmers and their family members make up the majority of farm workers in the EU, yet the methodology for reporting European statistics on accidents at work does not require the reporting of injuries sustained by these groups. Due to the lack of reporting and the underreporting of injuries, the available data does not reflect the reality of occupational safety on European farms.
In this SafeHabitus webinar on understanding the number of injuries in EU agriculture, we will look at the importance of complete data in fostering the development of effective policies to improve working conditions on family farms across Europe. The speakers will present their findings on the importance of farm accident reporting, including:
- The findings of the SafeHabitus farm accident data collection study
- An Ireland case study on the use of fatal farm accident data for safety promotion, and a Finland case study on farm insurance accident data
