Assessing environmental effects of Rural Development Programmes

The Good Practice Workshops on 'Assessing environmental effects of Rural Development Programmes' held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 27-28 October 2015 aimed to provide a forum for the discussion and exchange of useful practices in assessing rural development policies. The exchange involved evaluators, researchers, Managing Authorities and European Commission officials and generated innovative ideas and solutions for the participants.

The specific objective of the GPW on the assessment of environmental effects of the RDPs was to:

  • exchange on different national and regional approaches in tackling the assessment of environmental results and impacts in the course of the ex-post evaluation of RDPs 2007-2013;
  • learn from the insights gained during testing new approaches in the course of the ENVIEVAL FP-7-project; and
  • develop practical solutions and recommendations to improve the ex post assessment of environmental results and impacts of their RDPs.
