Kontext

The project responds to the growing demand for regional and sustainable products and the need for stronger short supply chains in Brabant. By connecting producers, buyers, and logistics partners digitally and operationally, we are working towards a future-proof regional food chain. The project aligns with societal trends around sustainability, transparency of origin, regional identity, and the circular economy.

Objectives

In this project, a sustainable value chain is developed for Brabant farmers. An online platform, BEUKK (Better Eating from the Short Chain), is being developed to bring consumers and Brabant (Regional) farmers into direct contact with each other, focusing on the largest possible range of different regional products for an optimal shopping experience. the consumer. With the platform, De Brabantse Streekboeren can arrange the entire chain up to the consumer themselves and thus maintain control over the chain.

Objectives

In dit project wordt een duurzame waardeketen ontwikkeld voor Brabantse boeren. Een online platform, BEUKK (Beter Eten Uit de Korte Keten),wordt ontwikkeld om consumenten en de Brabantse (Streek)boeren rechtsreeks in contact met elkaar te brengen, waarbij gefocust wordt op een zo groot mogelijk aanbod van verschillende Streekproducten voor een optimale winkelbeleving van de consument. Met het platform kunnen De Brabantse Streekboeren de gehele keten tot aan de consument zelf regelen en daarmee regie houden over de keten.

Activities

The project strengthens collaboration between Brabant producers, processors, and buyers through a joint strategy for sustainable short supply chains. Activities include the development and implementation of a digital platform for sales and collaboration, optimization of regional logistics, quality assurance through transparency and traceability, joint marketing of Brabant regional products, and knowledge sharing through workshops and pilots.

Het project versterkt samenwerking tussen Brabantse producenten, verwerkers en afnemers via een gezamenlijke strategie voor duurzame korte ketens. Activiteiten omvatten ontwikkeling en toepassing van een digitaal platform voor afzet en samenwerking, optimalisatie van regionale logistiek, kwaliteitsborging door transparantie en traceerbaarheid, gezamenlijke marketing van Brabants Streekgoed, en kennisdeling via workshops en pilots.

1 Practice Abstracts

The project has led to robust collaboration between Brabant producers, processors, and buyers within the Brabants Streekgoed brand. A key achievement is the development and implementation of the digital BEUKK platform, which serves as the backbone for ordering, logistics, administration, and transparency in the short supply chain.

This platform allows suppliers to offer their products centrally and buyers to easily purchase regionally. Logistics has been optimized through regional bundling, efficient routes, and collaboration with hubs, resulting in shorter supply chains and lower CO₂ emissions.

In addition, a joint strategy has been developed for the sustainable production, positioning, and marketing of Brabant regional products. Extensive knowledge has been shared and innovative collaboration models tested through meetings, pilots, and workshops.

The project has thus created a scalable, reproducible, and future-proof model that economically strengthens regional entrepreneurs and responds to the societal need for local, sustainable, and transparent food chains.

Het project heeft geleid tot een robuuste samenwerking tussen Brabantse producenten, verwerkers en afnemers binnen het merk Brabants Streekgoed. Een belangrijk resultaat is de ontwikkeling en ingebruikname van het digitale BEUKK-platform, dat als ruggengraat fungeert voor bestellingen, logistiek, administratie en transparantie in de korte keten.

Met dit platform kunnen leveranciers hun producten centraal aanbieden en afnemers eenvoudig regionaal inkopen. De logistiek is geoptimaliseerd door regionale bundeling, efficiënte routes en samenwerking met hubs, wat tot kortere ketens en lagere CO₂-uitstoot leidt.

Daarnaast is een gezamenlijke strategie ontwikkeld voor duurzame productie, positionering en marketing van Brabantse streekproducten. Via bijeenkomsten, pilots en workshops is veel kennis gedeeld en zijn innovatieve samenwerkingsvormen getest.

Het project heeft daarmee een schaalbaar, reproduceerbaar en toekomstbestendig model opgeleverd dat regionale ondernemers economisch versterkt en inspeelt op de maatschappelijke behoefte aan lokale, duurzame en transparante voedselketens.
