1 Practice Abstracts
The primary objective of these cooperation projects is to support the transition of agriculture in and around nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 areas and in peat pastures, while contributing to the CAP objectives:
climate change mitigation and adaptation;
to foster sustainable development and efficient management of natural resources such as water, soil and air; and contributing to the protection of biodiversity, enhancing ecosystem services and preserving habitats and landscapes.
The objective of the subsidy scheme is to promote measures in peatland areas and in and around nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 areas, aimed at more extensive and nature-inclusive farming, such as:
increase the groundwater level on grassland plots i.r.the climate challenge;
extensification of dairy farms in and around nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 sites to reduce nitrogen loads.
Our cooperation is actively working on these challenges and measures. With our current management, we are already contributing to these challenges, but we are all motivated – by working with each other – to take further steps in terms of extensification. We do not want to oppose the changes that are ongoing, but rather to move with it. Our aim is to make our companies future-proof. This scheme provides the financial support needed to keep us on track.
Two of our companies have been biologically dynamic for many years and two others have experience of biological management for many years; so more than half of our partnership.
Het primaire doel bij deze samenwerkingsprojecten is het ondersteunen van de transitie van de landbouw in en rond stikstofgevoelige Natura 2000-gebieden en in veenweidegebieden, waarbij een bijdrage kan worden geleverd aan de GLB-doelstellingen:
matiging van en aanpassing aan klimaatverandering;
het bevorderen van duurzame ontwikkeling en efficiënt beheer van natuurlijke hulpbronnen zoals water, bodem en lucht; en het bijdragen aan de bescherming van de biodiversiteit, versterken van ecosysteemdiensten en in stand houden van leefgebieden en landschappen.
De subsidieregeling heeft als doel om in veenweidegebieden en in en rond stikstofgevoelige Natura 2000-gebieden maatregelen te stimuleren, die gericht zijn op een extensievere en meer natuurinclusieve agrarische bedrijfsvoering, zoals:
verhogen van de grondwaterstand op graslandpercelen i.r.t de klimaatopgave;
extensiveren van melkveehouderijbedrijven in en rond stikstofgevoelige Natura 2000-gebieden om de stikstofbelasting terug te dringen.
Ons samenwerkingsverband gaat actief aan de slag met deze opgaven en maatregelen. Met onze huidige bedrijfsvoering dragen wij al bij aan die opgaven, maar wij zijn allemaal gemotiveerd om - door met elkaar samen te werken - verdere stappen te zetten qua extensivering. Wij willen ons niet verzetten tegen de veranderingen die gaande zijn, maar juist graag meebewegen. Ons doel is om onze bedrijven toekomstbestendig te maken. Deze regeling biedt de financiële ondersteuning die nodig is om ons verder op weg te helpen.
Twee van onze bedrijven zijn al jarenlang biologisch-dynamisch en twee anderen hebben al jarenlange ervaring met een biologische bedrijfsvoering; meer dan de helft van ons samenwerkingsverband dus.
