Fomentar la revalorización de los castañares de Extremadura, mejorando la gestión de las explotaciones y el estado fitosanitario del castaño en la región.
Objectives
The general objective of the project is to promote the revaluation of the chestnut groves of Extremadura, improving the management of the farms and the phytosanitary status of the chestnut in the region. The recovery and maintenance of the traditional area will help improve the competitiveness of chestnut farms, due to its importance in mountain family economies and as it is also a natural habitat of community interest.
Objectives
El objetivo general del proyecto es fomentar la revalorización de los castañares de Extremadura, mejorando la gestión de las explotaciones y el estado fitosanitario del castaño en la región. La recuperación y mantenimiento de la superficie tradicional ayudarán a mejorar la competitividad de las explotaciones de los castañares, por su importancia en las economías familiares de montaña y al tratarse además de un hábitat natural de interés comunitario.
Activities
Action A1. Creation of a network of experimental plots. Action A2. Development of biological control protocols for the Chancre. Action A3. Transformation of the abandoned chestnut grove into a high-value agroforestry system. Action A4. Implementation of cultural techniques to increase the resilience of chestnut groves to climate change. Action A5. Identification and studies of success stories in other territories that can be extrapolated to our territory: fruits or mushrooms, among others. Action A6. Promotion of agroforestry management with ecological certification. Action A7. Coordination, implementation of the project and dissemination of the project.

Actuación A1. Creación una red de parcelas experimentales. Actuación A2. Desarrollo de protocolos de control biológico del Chancro. Actuación A3. Transformación del castañar abandonado en un sistema agroforestal de alto valor. Actuación A4. Implementación de técnicas culturales para incrementar la resiliencia de los de los castañares frente al cambio climático. Actuación A5. Identificación y estudios de casos de éxito en otros territorios que puedan ser extrapolables a nuestro territorio: frutos o setas, entre otros. Actuación A6. Promoción de la gestión agroforestal con certificación ecológica. Actuación A7. Coordinación, puesta en marcha del proyecto y divulgación del proyecto.
