Objectives
Plant protection against pests/diseases is based on the use of plant protection products (PPPs), which is an extremely controversial way of providing sufficient food. While PPPs are reducing the losses caused by plants diseases, they also have a negative impact on the environment and people. As part of this EIP project, a new non-chemical approach to plant protection against diseases will be introduced, namely the illumination of plants with UV light. The main goal of the project is to reduce the use of PPPs in agriculture and, consequently, to minimise agriculture's negative impacts on the environment and human health.
Objectives
Varstvo rastlin pred številnimi škodljivimi organizmi temelji na uporabi fitofarmacevtskih sredstev (FFS), ki predstavljajo izjemno protisloven način zagotavljanja zadostnih količin hrane. Medtem ko zmanjšujejo izgube, ki jih na rastlinah povzročajo bolezni, hkrati negativno vplivajo na okolje in ljudi. V okviru projekta bomo uvajali nov nekemčni pristop varstva rastlin pred boleznimi, in sicer osvetljevanje rastlin z UV svetlobo. Glavni cilj projekta je zmanjšanje uporabe FFS v kmetijstvu in posledično negativnih vplivov kmetijstva na okolje in zdravje ljudi.
Activities
Using laboratory diagnostics, the impact of UV light on plant pathogens will be analized. Based on the results of the analysis and an in-depth literature review, two prototypes will be developed, namely a prototype for machine UV lighting of plants and a stationary system for UV lighting of plants. As part of the practical test, we will test the proposed method of plant protection on five different agricultural crops. The results of the practical experiment will be analyzed and presented in a handbook. Dissemination of project results will be carried out through workshops, lectures and demonstrations.
Activities
Z uporabo laboratorijske diagnostike bomo analizirali vpliv UV svetlobe na rastlinske patogene. Na podlagi rezultatov analize in na podlagi poglobljene študije strokovne literature bomo razvil in izdelali dva prototipa, in sicer prototip za strojno UV osvetljevanje rastlin ter stacionarni sistem za UV osvetljevanje rastlin. V okviru izvajanja praktičnega preizkusa bomo predlagano metodo varstva rastlin testirali na petih različnih kmetijskih kulturah. Rezultate praktičnega preizkusa bomo analizirali in jih predstavili v priročniku. Z izvajanjem delavnic, predavanj in drugih aktivnosti bomo rezultate projekta vseskozi prenašali na kmetovalce, kmetijske svetovalce in ostale.
Context
Strategija slovenskega kmetijstva je usmerjena v vzpostavitev in zagotavljanje ustrezno visoke ravni kmetijske pridelave ob sočasni skrbi za okolje in zdravje ljudi. Slovenija se je v okviru obvladovanja rastlinskih bolezni in škodljivcev in v skladu z Direktivo 2009/128/ES zavezala, da bo nepretrgoma skrbela za racionalno rabo in zmanjševanje tveganj in vplivov rabe FFS na zdravje ljudi in okolje (površinske in podtalne vodne vire, zemljo, zrak, neciljne organizme). Zato se v zadnjem obdobju poleg gospodarnosti v kmetijstvu v ospredje vse bolj postavlja pridelava varne hrane in prizadevanja za zmanjšanje vpliva fitofarmacevtskih sredstev na zdravje ljudi in okolja.
