Activities
The achievement of the project objectives will provide a tool to improve the diagnosis of diseases during lamb fattening. This will allow for better animal welfare by improving the health of the animals and at the same time improving the productive results of the farms. A prototype will be available that will allow the capture of conventional and thermal images of the animals that will help to establish the behaviour patterns of both healthy and sick lambs. These patterns will be the mechanism by which a diagnosis of the lambs will be issued so that the caretakers can know the health status of the animals.

La consecución de los objetivos del proyectos permitirá contar con una herramienta para mejorar el diagnóstico de enfermedades durante el cebo de corderos. Esto permitirá conseguir un mejor bienestar animal al mejorar la salud de los animales a la vez que conseguirá mejorar los resultados productivos de las granjas. Se dispondrá de un prototipo que permitirá la captación de imágenes convencionales y térmicas de los animales que ayudarán a establecer los patrones de comportamiento de los corderos tanto sanos como enfermos. Estos patrones serán el mecanismo por el que se emitirá un diagnósitico de los corderos para que los cuidadores puedan conocer el estado de salud de los animales.

1 Practice Abstracts
Diagnosing diseases in fattening lambs is not easy, as demonstrated by the fact that a high percentage of lambs present lung lesions when they arrive at the slaughterhouse without having been diagnosed during the fattening period. To improve this diagnosis, imaging techniques based on continuous video capture will be used, as well as the creation of an algorithm capable of detecting behaviour patterns in sick animals.
El diagnóstico de las enfermedades en corderos de cebo no es sencillo como demuestra que un alto porcentaje de corderos presenten lesiones en pulmones cuando llegan al mataderos sin haber sido diagnosticados durante el periodo de engorde. Para mejorar este diagnóstico se emplearán técnicas de imagen basadas en captura por video de forma continua y creación de un algoritmo capaz de detectar patrones de comportamiento de los animales enfermos.
