Sustainability and developement of the blackcurrant sector in Burgundy - setting up
Pérennité et developpement de la filière cassis en Bourgogne - émergene
Objectives
The project had several objectives:
Upstream / downstream structuring of the sector was the prerequisite.
The major challenge is to stabilize the yields of the Noir de Bourgogne variety. Even in favorable climatic conditions, the yields are random. Different tracks have been studied:
• genetic improvement,
• plant sanitation,
• evolution of agronomic management
• ... ..
Finally, a prospective research to make recognize the know-how of the production of blackcurrant buds in Burgundy was planned. The goal is to secure this niche production on our territory.
Objectives
Le projet poursuivait plusieurs objectifs:
La structuration amont/aval de la filière était le préalable indispensable.
L'enjeu majeur est de stabiliser les rendements de la variété Noir de Bourgogne. Même en conditions climatiques favorables, les rendements sont aléatoires. Différentes pistes ont été étudiées :
• amélioration génétique,
• assainissement des plants,
• évolution de la conduite agronomique
• …..
Enfin, une recherche prospective pour faire reconnaître le savoir-faire de la production de bourgeons de cassis en Bourgogne était prévue. L'objectif étant de sécuriser cette production de niche sur notre territoire.
Activities
The action plan focused on the construction of future projects, and the creation of a professional entity capable of carrying them. It mainly involved the recruitment of a 12-month project manager who was in charge of:
- Consultation of partners and identification of additional resources or skills to work on performance stabilization.
- The animation of the Operational Group and the working groups on the basis of the lines of work presented: structuring of the sector, improvement Black of Burgundy and recognition Bourgeon de cassis.
Activities
Le plan d’action s'est concentré sur la construction de projets ultérieurs, et sur la création d’une entité professionnelle en capacité de les porter. Il s’est traduit principalement par le recrutement d’un chargé de mission, sur 12 mois, qui a eu en charge :
- La consultation des partenaires et identification de ressources ou compétences supplémentaires pour travailler sur la stabilisation du rendement.
- L’animation du Groupe Opérationnel et des groupes de travail sur la base des axes de travail présentés:structuration filière, amélioration Noir de Bourgogne et reconnaissance Bourgeon de cassis.

1 Practice Abstracts
La créartion de l'interprofession régionales Les acteurs du Cassis est le centre du projet. Elle consiste à rassembler deux coopératives de producteurs (regroupant 80 agriculteurs) et les transformateurs liquristes de la région (7 industries et 3 artisants), Cette interprofession associe aussi des contributeurs techniques et scientifiques en fonction des besoins identifiés.
L'association ainsi créée a travaillé à définir un programme de recherche expérimentale afin d'améliorer la productivité du cassis Noir de Bourgogne. Les pistes identifiées sont :
- amélioration génétiques par croisements avec d'autres varités issues du conservatoire
- assinissement des plants
- irrigation
- conduite des parcelles sans glyphosate
- mise ne place de structures écologiques favorisant la pollinisation
Ces actions font l'objet d'un nouveau dépôt de projet au titre du PEI sur la phase de fonctionnement avec un groupe opérationel constitué de 7 partenaires en recherche, développement, production et transformation et l'association de l'interprofession.
L'analyse des différents outils pour faire reconnaître la production de bourgeons de cassis n'a pas aboutie à la définition d'une statégie partagé.
The creation of the regional interprofessional association Les Acteurs du Cassis is the founding element of the project. It brings together two producer co-operatives (80 farms) and the region's liqueur processors (7 manufacturers and 3 artisans). It also associates according to the needs of the technical and scientific contributors.
This association then worked on an experimental research program aimed at improving the productivity of Black Burgundy. The tracks identified were: genetic improvement by crossing with blackcurrant varieties from our conservatory, plant sanitation by apex cultivation, irrigation, grassland management without the use of glyphosate and infrastructure ecological promoting pollination.
These themes are the subject of the action program of the new PEI project. It brings together 7 partners in research, development, production and processing and is protected by the inter-professional association.
The analysis of the different tools for recognizing bud production has not worked out on a shared strategy. It's the status quo.
