Objectives
Svar The purpose of the innovation project is to develop and test a slaughterhouse independent and farmer driven price comparison service that makes it possible for beef producers to compare their prices per killed weight from the slaughterhouses. The price comparisons will be presented in the company Skira's price comparison service Lumen, where they can be displayed both regionally and nationally. The intended innovation is an independent, objective and farmer driven source of information that helps farmers to make informed decisions and ensures that they get paid correctly for their products.
Objectives
Additional comments
The purpose of the innovation project is to develop and test a slaughterhouse independent and farmer driven price comparison service that makes it possible for beef producers to compare their prices per killed weight from the slaughterhouses. The price comparisons will be presented in the company Skira's price comparison service Lumen, where they can be displayed both regionally and nationally. The model is based on that the farmer forwarding his or her price data to the digital scanning solution. The data is analysed with the help of image and calculation algorithms, sorted into each category (eg young bull, heifer, cow and shape and fat class), and anonymised regarding personal data and GDPR. The system processes the entered price data and creates a regional and national comparison per category: average price, median price, and 10% best and worst price. The results are presented continuously in a web platform. The intended innovation is an independent, objective and farmer driven source of information that helps farmers to make informed decisions and ensures that they get paid correctly for their products. The idea is based on the Farmers Business Network (www.fbn.com) in the USA, which has successfully developed and implemented similar solutions in the USA and Canada.
