Objectives
In agriculture, too much nitrogen and phosphate is still leached into surface and groundwater. Farmers lack insight to manage this in such a way that the water quality remains good.
Objectives
In de landbouw spoelt nog teveel stikstof en fosfaat uit naar oppervlakte- en grondwater. Het ontbreekt boeren aan inzicht om hierop zodanig te sturen dat de waterkwaliteit goed blijft.
Activities
Work is being done on a proof of principle of an innovative concept in which private and public parties actively cooperate, in order to provide insight into the relationship between agricultural activities in fields and the leaching and run-off of nutrients into the surface water. Sensor measurements and insight into agricultural activities are the basis for this. It thus opens the way for a business system with which the agricultural entrepreneur himself takes care of the sustainable use of soil and fertilizers and maximizes the closing of cycles.
Activities
Er wordt gewerkt aan een de proof of principle van een innovatief concept waarbij private en publieke partijen actief samenwerken, om het verband tussen agrarisch handelen op akkers en de uit- en afspoeling van nutriënten naar het oppervlaktewater inzichtelijk te maken. Sensormetingen en inzicht in agrarisch handelen zijn hiervoor de basis. Het maakt daarmee de weg open voor een bedrijfssysteem waarmee de agrarische ondernemer zelf zorg draagt voor duurzaam gebruik van bodem en meststoffen en het sluiten van kringlopen maximaliseert.
Context
Op basis van metingen in oppervlaktewater, bodem en grondwater wordt resultaatgericht sturing gegeven aan het agrarisch bodembeheer en nutriënten management. Deze sturing moet leiden tot substantiële verlaging van de belasting van stikstof en fosfor in grond- en oppervlaktewater. Dit moet leiden tot realisatie van waterkwaliteitsdoelen onder de Kaderrichtlijn Water (KRW).
