Objectives
The objective of the project is to assess the potential for using new unconventional water sources, including treated wastewater, for irrigation of Norman vegetable crops. It is therefore a matter of finding alternative solutions for the irrigation of Norman vegetable crops, in order to have enough water in sufficient quantity and quality all year round for irrigation.
Drought events and irrigation restrictions are more and more frequent, West Cotentin has shallow water tables and draining sandy soils and is diversifying its vegetable production with crops requiring a lot of irrigation.
Objectives
L’objectif du projet est d’évaluer le potentiel d’utilisation de nouvelles sources d’eau non conventionnelles, notamment les eaux usées traitées, à des fins d’irrigation de cultures légumières normandes. Il s’agit donc de trouver des solutions alternatives pour l’irrigation des cultures légumières normandes, afin de disposer d’eau en quantité et qualité suffisante toute l’année pour l’irrigation.
Les évènements de sécheresse et les restrictions pour l’irrigation sont de plus en plus fréquents, l’ouest Cotentin dispose de nappes peu profondes et de sols sableux drainants et diversifie sa production légumière avec des cultures nécessitant beaucoup d’irrigation.
