Objectives
A chain concept in which the entire chain (from farmer to consumer) is involved. The concept can be applied in a sustainable way to family farms, where the pig farmer does not have to make any major investments, whereby the pig is fully utilized. This yields a responsible product, namely good meat with a unique Gelderland flavor.

Een ketenconcept waarbij de gehele keten (van boer tot en met consument) is betrokken. Het concept is duurzaam toe te passen op gezinsbedrijven, waarbij de varkenshouder geen grote investeringen hoeft te doen, waarbij het varken volledig wordt benut. Dat levert een verantwoord product op, namelijk goed vlees dat met een unieke Gelderse smaak.
Activities
FoodValley Pig is unique because of the cooperation between the parties (farmer - erfbetreders - slaughterhouse - wholesale - consumer). They have one common goal, namely to use the expertise across the entire width of the production column.
The product is particularly focused on taste. Consumers determine which taste and quality requirements the product must meet. This is indicated by choices in genetics and nutrition. The best choice is made in agreement with pig farmers. Tests make differences transparent and on the basis the best combination is ultimately determined. This should result in pork that is unique in taste and quality and recognizable for the region.

FoodValley Pig is uniek door de samenwerking tussen de partijen (boer – erfbetreders – slachterij – groothandel - consument). Zij hebben één gezamenlijk doel, namelijk het benutten van de expertise over de gehele breedte van de productiekolom.
Het product richt zich met name op smaak. Consumenten bepalen welke smaak- en kwaliteitseisen het product moet voldoen. Door keuzes in genetica en voeding wordt hier invulling aangegeven. In overeenstemming met varkenshouder wordt de beste keuze gemaakt. Proeven maken verschillen inzichtelijk en op basis wordt uiteindelijk de beste combinatie bepaald. Dat moet dan resultaten in varkensvlees dat uniek is in smaak en kwaliteit en herkenbaar voor de regio.
